Wild About You Boxed Set

Here's a fun project I did a few nights ago... it's a little box with gift cards inside using the frisky Wild About You stamp set.

I found a pattern for a box like this on the Stampin' Up! demonstrator website, but it was the wrong size. So I made some modifications for it to fit the 3"x3" cards I wanted to put inside.

Edited to add: The measurements I used are as follows:

Box bottom: 9" x 3-1/2" with short edge scores at 1/2", 1-1/2", 4-3/4", and 5-3/4". The long edge is scored at 1".

Box lid: 9-1/4" x 2-3/4" with short edge scores at 1/2", 1-9/16", 4-7/8", and 5-15/16". The long edge is scored at 1-1/16".

Box band (the scalloped black part around the lid): 9-1/2" x 1", scored at 1/2", 1-5/8", 5", and 6-1/8".

I scalloped the edge of the black strip for the lid using a Corner Rounder punch (guard removed).

I have 4 little notecards and their matching envelopes in this box. This would be a cute gift for a teacher who gives notes to her students, or to a child (or parent of that child) who goes to a lot of birthday parties!

The colors I used are So Saffron, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue (along with Designer Prints in those colors), Whisper White, and Basic Black. The sentiments on the little cards came from Short & Sweet. The animals are stamped onto a 1 1/4" circle, layered onto a 1 3/8" circle, and then onto a Scallop Circle. In hindsight, I think I would've liked the scallops on the cards to have the smaller 1/16" circle holes like the one on the box. I used the Horizontal Slot punch to make a space for the Black Gingham ribbon.

I hope you like it - it sure was fun to create!

Girls Club Tote

Here's what the girls (and their moms) made at Girls Club today!

Isn't it adorable? This little tote bag holds these three matching cards that we also made:

The colors are Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink, and Apricot Appeal with just a touch of Certainly Celery (sounds like a soup recipe). The flower is from the Doodle This set and we colored it with the Stampin' Pastels. The swirl on the background was stamped with Versamark. THEN... as an extra treat, everyone got to learn how to use the Crop-a-Dile to set the eyelets which hold the handles on. We also used the Crop-a-Dile to make the dry embossed "bumps" for the trim on the tote! They all did a fabulous job!

If you missed out on this fun workshop, no worries... I have one every month! Girls ages 8-15 are welcome to attend for $10. If Mom wants to stay and do the project too, the cost is $15. The dates for the next two months are September 9th and October 7th. Feel free to get your name on the list now before the spaces fill up!

Boxed Sets

We had a good time at the Stamp-a-Stack workshop this morning! We made two boxes with four cards in each. You've seen some of this before, but not all pulled together. Be sure and read on, as I have a treat stuck in the middle of this post!! Here's what we made:

Let me start by saying that the tab on this box is Certainly Celery, but I couldn't get it to look that way in the photo. This box uses a small velcro circle as a closure as you can see below:

You've seen these cards on my blog before, but here they are again:

The backgrounds are wheeled with the Jumbo Petal wheel and Whisper White craft ink. The other colors are Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, Ruby Red, and Marigold Morning - which is retired, so we used Apricot Appeal in the class. The animals come from the "Wild About You" stamp set, and the sentiments on the tabs came from the retired All Year Cheer I and II sets (I made these cards long ago).

Now for the other project. You've seen this box too...

...but I have a treat for you! You can now see my tutorial and make one of your own!

Here are the cards we made to go inside:

I kept them fairly simple, as we ran short on time the way it was. The nice thing about these cards (and the box) is that they are completely stamped using VersaMark ink! The only other ink we used was some Close to Cocoa to sponge on the edges for an aged look. The swirl and emblem are from the Baroque Motifs set, and the sentiments are from the Hugs & Wishes and Holidays & Wishes stamp sets. The cards have an antique brad on the emblem, but the box uses one of the new Fire Rhinestones.

My next Stamp-a-Stack workshop is on August 14th. Reserve your seat now as I'll be pulling out some exciting things from the NEW catalog! I can't wait to show you!
