Many of you may know that Dave Abbott, Stampin' Up!'s General Manager in Australia, passed away on October 18th from hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a rare blood disease. He became ill in November 2006 and went through various treatments to fight the disease. I never had the honor of meeting this wonderful man, but I have heard so many great things about him from my friends in Sydney. Even though he was in and out of the hospital, Dave remained involved in building the company and getting to know the demonstrators in Australia as well as in the United States. Dave was only 41 and leaves behind a wife and three small children.
Stampin' Up! has set up a fund to help his family through this devastating loss. During the month of November, they are donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the 28-piece All in the Family stamp set in ALL of their markets to directly benefit Dave's wife and children.
I want us all to do our part... I will be purchasing my set immediately and would love for you to be able to do the same. To help you, I am giving up my commission on this set in the hopes that we can make a big difference for a family in need. From November 1st thru 30th, order this set from me at 20% off... instead of $36.95, your cost would be $29.56. It's a fun set - and essential if you have kids of your own! You can see it on page 83 of the current Idea Book & Catalog (you can access the catalog from the link down at left) or click here to view the official flyer that includes the set along with a picture of Dave's family. Let me know if you would like to purchase a set of your own and show Dave's family that we care.

I thought your idea of giving up your 20% is very kind and I did the same with my customers. Thanks for the idea. Love your blog.
