I'm Back (again)!

I know, I know... I'm long overdue for a new posting. We had a fabulous time at my family reunion this past weekend. I can't wait to do it again in 2009! (I've already begun planning it...)

I got all the laundry done and then made a card last night. It felt so good to get back into my stamp room.

This is my first time using a "Long Note". It's a 3 1/4" wide by 6 5/8" tall So Saffron card. The other colors are Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, and Naturals Ivory with the 5/8" Wide Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon. The Naturals Ivory strip was scalloped using the corner rounder (guide removed), and I paper pierced a row underneath it. You may recognize the technique I used on the leaves - I did it on this card first. This time, I inked up the leaves two different ways. Some of them are inked in Versamark first and then the edges are rolled in So Saffron, and some of them are inked in So Saffron and rolled in More Mustard. The "Thank you" sentiment comes from the Short & Sweet stamp set and is embossed using Chocolate Chip craft ink and clear powder. The acorn was inked using markers (Close to Cocoa and Really Rust) and then rolled in Chocolate Chip. Then I colored over it with my Versamark pen and embossed it with clear powder. I just love the look it creates! But I'm not sure I'm happy with the placement of the acorn. What do you think?

The leaves and the acorn come from Autumn Fest, which is on promotion this month! During the month of September, with every $30 purchase, you can select one of the following stamp sets at 30% off!

I think I have some catching up to do around here!
This is beautiful, and that acorn looks perfect right where it is!

I really like your cards. And the acorn looks good where it is...can't imagine it anywhere else on the card.
