Hi folks... well, I told you it would happen. You didn't believe me, but I'm here to tell you that I hit a creative slump! That explains why you haven't heard from me since last Thursday! I've been working - honest... but just not up to par.
Okay... here's one I worked on. I wanted to showcase the colors that come in the Level I Hostess Prints Pack - they're so vibrant and lively! I decided to pair them up with a simple combination of black and white to really show them off. But it's not working. Have a look:
This just isn't working for me... so what does it need? I stamped the petal outline from Pick a Petal onto the papers and cut them out. The center is made with the 3/4" Circle Punch. Then I mounted them onto Whisper White and Basic Black with a layer of Bashful Blue in between. I tied on some Basic Black grosgrain with a splash of Bashful Blue grosgrain as well. You see that I also dusted off my sewing machine for this one! In addition, I used some of our fabulous new Love & Happiness Rub-Ons from the Sale-a-Bration brochure for the sentiment! These Rub-Ons really are pretty cool - I can't wait to have you try them out. They look stunning on glass.
In any case, I believe this is an unfinished project. So your homework (*giggle*) is to study the photo above and figure out what could be done to spice it up a bit. Leave a comment and tell me what you think it needs! I'll improve it and post the "after" image when it's done.
Thanks for your help! Oh, and don't forget about my Ribbon Share! I've already had a tremendous response... remember that you must get in on it before March 2nd. My e-mail address is mgf@forceworld.com. Contact me before it's too late!

The card looks great to me. What about a button in the center of the black?
What if you used the word window punch and put the sentiment inside it on the blue?
I like the card a lot as it is!
ok..your "slump" is looking pretty good to me!! I wish I would have one of
your "bad" days when creating!!
I like the card, the big colorful flower really catches your eye. Maybe a bigger sentiment at the bottom to take up some more space would be my only thought.
I really like your card - it's very sweet!!!I love this set a lot!!!
Going back and looking at it - I think a Jumbo Eyelet in the center of the circle with a matching colored Rhinstone in the middle would bring it to the next level??? Have fun trying all the different options...Let us know which one you chose???
Looking at it again - I like it just the way it is!!! Super sweet!!!
Hi there! I just came over from Jacki Wrights blog.
I like the card, but maybe no ribbon, and mat each of the petals with black? It would give it more visual weight.
Maybe multi-color ribbon 'flags/tabs' stapled on to the edge of the card?
Sorry my first comment on your blog is about changing your card!! LOL but you asked!
Ill be back , I like your blog!
Maybe substitute the yellow or red cardstock and ribbon for the Bashful Blue?
To me, Bashful Blue is a calm color, and the matching yellow or red would be more vibrant.
As it is, it's still better than anything I could come up with!
I wish my cards looked as good as your "slump"! love your card and creative showcasing of supplies.
How about a fire or ice rhinestone brad as the center of the flower?
/p
OKAY, I NEVER LIKE TO CRITICIZE CREATIVE EFFORTS. BUT, THE BLACK RIBBON SEEMS TO VISUALLY FIGHT WITH THE PETALS FOR CENTER STAGE. MAYBE A LIGHTER COLORED RIBBON DOWN THE LEFT SIDE WITH THE BLACK TIED ONTO IT. AND I AGREE ON A LITTLE "SOMETHING" IN THE CENTER OF THE FLOWER. BUT STILL, WOW! THOSE PRINTS REALLY DO POP. WELL DONE.
You have a great card going. I think there is too much white space that gets my attention first. I would use a background stamp like sanded or linen/canvas with a soft touch. I think that would make the flower really pop. Darlene
Hi Michele. I like the card, but also think there's too much white space, so a bigger sentiment and wider ribbon (maybe one that's not so dark). Also, I like the idea of something in the middle of the black circle, like a cute rub-on. Frankly, I love everything you do!!! Your blog is definitely one of my daily faves!
How 'bout swapping the grosgrain ribbons for a green and pushing it to the right so it looks more like a "stem" for the flower. Keep the knotted strips you have now--they'll look like leaves. Love the vividness of the colors. The whole card is striking. Ana Marie
i love the design of the card and the colorful ribbon gives more attraction. Nice one here! Maybe i should go for more designs and look for more stamp links directory
This is a very attractive card...maybe matting the petals in black would pull it together.
I like the stem idea!
I was thinking that a second partial flower would look good.
Actually, I'd love to see some of the ideas suggested to see if they help your feeling of the project.
I'm going to scrapjack your idea though! Imitation is the highest form of flattery after all. :)
